"...My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie; Dulce et Decorum est
Pro patria mori."

Translation, courtesy of Beginner's Latin 1 lessons...

"Dulce et Decorum Est
Pro Patria Mori":

"It is sweet and right
On behalf of our country to die"

Very GOOD Nic...way to go!

Yes...to those uninitiated...Owen's poem as a commentary on World War I STILL applies...in today's Afghanistan and Iraqi conflicts.
And Sadly, many are still signing up for the Army...not because they really "LOVE" their country "Of the Free and Brave", but due to simple pragmatic reasons of money, a roof over one's head, and family.
"Dulce Et Decorum Est"...Even if one is in a state of PTSD? Go think about that.
